2016-2017 Laker Report Cards

LOS ANGELES, CA – OCTOBER 26: D’Angelo Russell #1 of the Los Angeles Lakers speaks with Brandon Ingram #14 of the Los Angeles Lakers who’s playing in his first NBA game (Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)

Tarik Black C-
As an undersized center Black will always be at a disadvantage. Honestly, did not expect much from him this year.
Corey Brewer – N/A
Traded right before the deadline Brewer did not obtain enough minutes to receive a grade.
Jordan Clarkson B
Jordan Clarkson continues to show that he will be a double digit scorer in the league. Grade would have been higher if not for his lack of defense and he only shot 32% from 3.
Luol Deng F
This dude is washed………. Magic needs to ship him out ASAP!
Tyler Ennis N/A
Traded right before the deadline and Ennis did not obtain enough minutes to receive a grade.
Brandon Ingram B+
He showed lots of potential in his rookie season. I did expect him to be a little better than he was, but no hope lost on him becoming a future superstar.
Timofey Mosgov F
See Loul Deng above!!!!
Larry Nance B-
The Dunk Machine Larry Nance was once again dunking on any and every one this season. A minor injury set him back this year. I would like to see him develop his 3 point shot a little further. He shot 27% this season.
David Nwaba A
From a $100 D-League tryout to the NBA and his story is already “A” material. His defensive effort was by far the best by any player on the team this season.
Julius Randle C-
After averaging a double double last season his rebounding numbers fell this year. My problem with Randle is it seemed he only worked on the parts of his game that were already good. He needs to find a right hand this summer and somewhat of a jump shot.
Thomas Robinson B
High energy guy at this point in his career. Nothing special, but plays his role well.
D’Angelo Russell B+
It was clear he was the best player on the Lakers team this season. Unlike most, I like the growth of the young guard. I do think next year he will be a 17 and 6 type of guy on a nightly basis which would be great for his 3rd NBA season. His FG% has to rise from the low 40s and his defense needs vast improvement.
Metta World Peace A+++++++++++++++++++++
Pretty certain this is his last season as a Laker or maybe an NBA player. We thank you for the 3 against the Celtics. A +++++
Nick Young B-
I actually think Nick was having a pretty good year for the Lakers until they went into full blown tank mode. Luke Walton got him to try on defense so there’s that.
Ivica Zubac A-
Most surprising player from the Lakers. Played great in spurts. Needs to get stronger, but I definitely can tell why he got so many Marc Gasol comparisons.
Luke Walton B
This was not the star studded Warriors that Walton was coaching to 20 plus wins in a row. I liked how he played the young guys down the stretch to gain valuable experience.
